In allen drei Fällen wurden größere, über 1.000 Quadratmeter große Gebüsch- und Gehölzflächen gerodet. Mindestens eine Rodung erfolgte nach dem Beginn der Brutzeit Anfang März.

Aufmerksam auf die Verstöße wurde die Stadt sowohl durch Meldungen von Bürgern und Umweltverbänden als auch eigene Kontrollen. Solche Rodungen sind keine Kavaliersdelikte, sondern erhebliche Eingriffe in Natur und Landschaft und können hohe Bußgelder zur Folge haben. In allen drei Fällen werden daher entsprechende Verfahren eröffnet.

Die Umweltabteilung weist in diesem Zusammenhang noch einmal eindringlich auf das Naturschutzrecht und die Vorgaben zum Schutz der Brutzeit hin. Gerade der Artenschutz – das Verbot von Rodungen und größeren Gehölzschnittarbeiten von März bis September – ist eine bundesweit gültige Regelung, die auch für Haus- und Vorgärten gilt und der Rücksichtnahme und dem Schutz zahlreicher bedrohter Arten dient. Schnittmaßnahmen sind daher in diesem Zeitraum auf schonende Pflegemaßnahmen zu beschränken.

Sollten im Einzelfall größere Pflegemaßnahmen erforderlich sein, sollten diese rechtzeitig und im Vorfeld mit der Unteren Naturschutzbehörde (umwelt@neustadt.eu) abgestimmt werden.
